On the first day of Tim Horton’s Roll Up the Rim To Win
contest, I won! Not only did I win, but I won twice! Last year was a pretty lean year for the Tim Horton’s
wins around my house. I started to think that the contest was being run by the same
tightwads that run the Lotto 6/49. It is all luck of course, but for some
reason, my luck was on vacation last year. Perhaps it was concentrating on
health for my family and keeping a positive mental attitude. I’m good with
that.
So, let’s get back to day one. I won a free coffee when I
rolled the rim at the store, and when I played the online roulette game I won
three songs. Yea me!!! It feels good to be on top of the world. Sure, it’s a
somewhat smallish world, but I’m the one on top. The free coffee rests
comfortably in my wallet just waiting for the perfect moment to be used. That
perfect moment will probably be when I am out of cash and it’s my turn to buy
coffee, or perhaps I’ll be driving past one day and just pull in for a taste of
free coffee. One thing is sure, I am going to enjoy not paying, and if the
planets line up properly, there is a very good chance that I might win a free
coffee with a free coffee. How cool would that be? I’ll let you know just how
things play out.
The other thing that I won was three songs from…ahhhh…well,
now that I have downloaded my choices I can’t seem to find what online music
store they were from. You would think that they would want their name somewhere
on the contest page. Oh well. When I was looking for the name I clicked on a
song randomly and it was by a band called The Lonely Island and it was called “Jizz
In My Pants”. Oh, and what a lovely little ballad that was.
Don't waste a second listening to this shit!
I checked out the top downloads figuring they would be the
best songs, but not all of them were up to the standards of “Jizz In My Pants”,
so I went to the top 100 figuring I should have no problem picking out three
songs. Of the 100 songs, I probably recognized 15 and of the 15 there were
eight that I didn’t like, and four that I hated. Hey, problem solved and I didn’t
even have to really make a decision.
The three songs were “When You Say Nothing at All” by Alison
Krauss which is such a lovely little tune of love and trust, girl loves boy.
Sweet! The next one I picked was “We Are Never, Ever Getting Back Together” by
Taylor Swift. It has a catchy tune and by having it on my play list it looks
like I have an eclectic taste in music. Plus, I am secretly a lover of this
kind of bubble gum sound. The third song was “I Got a Feeling” by The Black
Eyed Peas. I’ve heard of them before and the sample wasn’t terrible. It wasn’t
not terrible either. I will admit that none of the songs could hold a candle to
“Jizz in my Pants”, but not all songs can be instant classics.
This is my year! The horoscope says so and judging by my
performance at Tim’s no one can convince me otherwise. Good luck to the rest of
you; may your life be filled with free music and coffee.
My first coffee won a coffee also. I think they put them out first to getcha hooked. Continued good luck to you.
